Band Member Assistance (BMA) Policy
Band Member Assistance (BMA) is assistance that Chief and Council of The Key First Nation agree to give out to The Key First Nation band members based on the following criteria:
Education-Costs related to education that isn’t covered by or under The Key First Nation Post-Secondary Education (PSE) or Skills and Trades Policies.
Employment-Costs related to the expenses of starting employment for The Key First Nation band members that isn’t covered by The Key First Nation Job Start Policy.
First born children of The Key First Nation band members-Parents of these said children will receive a one-time payment of $250.00 for their first born child to help with expenses.
Extra-curricular activities for children- The Key First Nation will help to pay for extra-curricular activities for children. A certain percentage (%) will be paid depending on employment status of parents. Low income families will be given priority.
Disabilities/Health expenses-The Key First Nation will help those with disabilities and health problems and expenses that cannot be paid for any other way.
Natural Disaster-The Key First Nation will help with expenses caused by natural disaster (flood, tornado, etc.) that are covered any other way.
BAND MEMBER ASSISTANCE IN ONLY AVAILABLE ONE (1) TIME PER YEAR.
ALL THESE CONDITIONS DEPEND IF THE KEY FIRST NATION BUDGET PERMITS.
